Total Data Outage for Chile

So I felt my first tremor on Monday night, was pretty cool actually just felt like someone was gently moving the couch I was sitting on. But the pictures on the wall started shaking and my host dad said look look. It was nothing though, when the big earthquake hit he said you could barely keep your balance while standing on the ground, very scary.
Got my Carnet, Chilean ID, last Friday and it was super easier this time. Turns out the 4 pictures and 8 photocopies of all my documents I didn't need. Guy literally filled out the from for me then covered my fingers in ink to fingerprint me. Then gave me one small paper towel to clean myself off, I still have ink under my finger nails.
Went out in Villiarica with some friends had a good time, mucho dancing and singing. Of course for the karaoke we picked Bruce Springsteen- Born in The USA, had too. When leaving the disco disco, two of my friends were trying to get with these Chileanos and turns out one of them worked in Stowe last year for a few months, small world. Then slept all day sunday. Then on Monday my host dad took my to the National Park Huerquehue, was amazing, we literally drove like straight up a mountain to get there. And there is this one family that looks after all the trails and people who go in and out of the park and of course my host dad new them. The guy was a carpenter and showed me the biggest trees ive ever seen. The mother was making bread from scratch when we arrived. So we hiked up a little and saw awesome waterfalls and I told my host padre i was going to go up a little further because he couldn't make it up the hill he said ok. I come back ten minutes later and guys gone. So for the next 45 minutes im running up and down this mountain through mud and shit thinking he fell off the side and is in a ditch somewhere. Finally the friend comes walking up, returns my screams and turns out my padre just went back to the house cause he was tired. Almost tossed the midget out the window. Lets just say I didn't talk much the rest of the night. But he did let me drive home which was cool.
Even though we had a short week it felt really long. We only have one more week till the end of the semester and I think the kids are getting extra anxious for it because my urge to hit them grows with each day. I need to learn Spanish faster and the kids need to learn to shut up, Im making due though.
For this weekend some friends and I are going to celebrate July 4th by coming here to Pucon and chilling in the hot springs and going out. Should be a good time.
I haven't decided what I am doing for the Winter Break may ski may go up north or further down south but whatever I will make the best of it and do something I haven't don before. Oh and I can't wait till the Real Padres come down, we are going to have lots of fun ma and pops.

Much Love,
Patiperro
